Paul McCormack Awarded Freedom of the City of London

Paul McCormack, CEO of Decarbon Logistics Solutions (DLS), a Volofleet platform company, has been honoured with the prestigious Freedom of the City of London in a formal ceremony held at the Guildhall this week. The accolade recognises his significant contributions to the logistics sector, particularly in advancing sustainable and innovative solutions.

Paul expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am delighted and honoured to receive the Freedom of the City of London. I extend my thanks to Joy Laister and Rowland Potter for their support and for initially inviting me to join them as a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Carmen.” The Worshipful Company of Carmen is one of London’s historic livery companies, representing professionals in logistics and transport.

The Freedom of the City of London is an ancient tradition dating back to 1237, originally granting rights to trade within the city. While largely ceremonial today, it remains a mark of distinction and connection to London’s rich history. The ceremony was conducted at the Guildhall, a historic venue for such events, emphasising its significance in honouring individuals who have excelled in their fields.

Paul established DLS in 2023, concentrating on reducing carbon emissions in logistics by leveraging urban hubs, promoting micro-mobility solutions, and facilitating the adoption of electric vehicles. With over 20 years of experience in the logistics sector, Paul has held senior leadership roles at Amazon Logistics and Hermes-Europe. Additionally, he has spearheaded the launch of final-mile logistics businesses in the United States and India, demonstrating his expertise in innovative and sustainable logistics strategies.

This recognition places Paul among a distinguished group of individuals who have received this honour for their contributions to various sectors, reflecting the City’s commitment to celebrating excellence and innovation.
